Two Palestinians were killed on Thursday as Israeli military operations continued across the Gaza Strip, according to local and medical sources.
A local source reported that a Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli forces in the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, amid ongoing field tensions in the area.
A medical source also confirmed the death of a young man who succumbed to injuries sustained days earlier after an Israeli strike targeted a tent sheltering displaced civilians inside Ibn Sina School west of Gaza City.
Local sources said Israeli naval forces opened fire early Thursday in the waters off Khan Younis in southern Gaza, coinciding with artillery shelling and gunfire from military vehicles targeting eastern parts of the city.
Israeli armored units also fired toward eastern Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City, as military operations continued across multiple areas.
The developments come amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling on various parts of the Gaza Strip, including areas hosting displaced families, according to local reports.
Since the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel came into effect in October, around 1,000 Palestinians have been killed, bringing the overall death toll of the war to more than 73,000, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
The latest developments reflect the continued escalation in Gaza amid the absence of a sustained truce, as ongoing military operations further deepen the humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
