The Israeli army carried out a series of attacks on Wednesday across southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire agreement in force, resulting in fatalities and material damage in several areas.

According to field monitoring based on data from the Lebanese National News Agency, nine separate military operations were recorded across the districts of Nabatieh and Bint Jbeil. The incidents included drone strikes, gunfire, artillery shelling, sweeping operations with machine guns, explosive detonations, and the use of phosphorus shells.

Two Killed in Nabatieh

In the Nabatieh district, an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on the road to Tall al-Dabsha inside the city of Nabatieh, killing two people on the spot.

Another drone dropped a stun grenade near the town of Kfartebnit, while a third strike hit open land in the al-Deir neighborhood of Nabatieh al-Fawqa.

The same area also witnessed gunfire by Israeli forces toward a civilian vehicle, along with another strike targeting a car near a Lebanese army barracks, without additional casualties reported.

Scattered Attacks in Bint Jbeil

In Bint Jbeil district, one person was lightly injured following the explosion of a loitering drone inside the town of Yater.

The town of Haddatha came under artillery shelling accompanied by machine-gun sweeping operations, while the Israeli army carried out a detonation in the town of Aitaroun.

In Barashit, phosphorus shelling sparked fires on the outskirts of the area, according to local sources.

Continued Escalation Despite International Understandings

The escalation comes amid ongoing field tensions despite recent international understandings calling for a comprehensive halt to military operations, including on the Lebanese front.

Despite the agreement, Israel continues to carry out strikes that it says target Hezbollah positions, while field reports indicate an expanding scope of attacks that also affects civilian and agricultural areas.

Broader Context of Border Tensions

Southern Lebanon has witnessed intermittent escalation along the border for months, amid reports of international pressure to reduce military activity and support political tracks linked to the broader regional file.

At the same time, warnings persist over the risk of wider escalation if field violations continue, particularly in areas close to the front lines.
